Product Update: Monitoring Amazon Inspector findings

Andreas Wittig – 09 May 2023

We are glad to announce a product update: marbot configures monitoring of Amazon Inspector findings automatically. Amazon Inspector is a security assessment service that helps you identify potential security issues in your applications and infrastructure. To benefit from the security monitoring provided by Inspector, responding to potential threats as fast as possible is crucial.

Product Update: Monitoring Amazon Inspector findings

Please note that this product update only affects customers using the Monitoring Assistant, which configures AWS monitoring automatically.

Who is already using the Monitoring Assitant?

  • All teams that installed marbot for Slack after 2022-12-15.
  • All teams that installed marbot for Microsoft Teams after 2023-01-17.
  • All teams that opted-in by sending an email to support.

How to monitor Amazon Inspector findings?

marbot creates an EventBridge rule to monitor Amazon Inspector findings out-of-the-box when enabling monitoring for an AWS account. In case Amazon Inspector identifies an issue with one of your EC2 instances, ECR repositories, or Lambda functions, you will receive an alert via Slack or Microsoft Teams.
